Objective To evaluate toxicity of varying doses Infliximab injecting intravitreally in rabbits. Infliximab, an FDA approved anti-inflammatory drug for Rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn’s disease. It has been reported as alternative or adjunct to chronic recurrent uveitis especially Behcet’s disease, Diabetic retinopathy PVR Materials Methods Twenty New Zeland albino rabbits were used this study divided into five groups (n=4 each). ARVO guidelines followed treatment animals. The injected with, 0.125mg 0.250mg, 0.500mg, 1.25mg 2.5mg 0.1 ml one eye saline solution was the contralateral eye. All animals examined using indirect ophthalmoscopy slit-lamp biomicroscopic examination before intravitreal injection at days 1,7 14. An ERG performed any day On 14 euthanized. Histological preparations enucleated eyes retinal toxicity. Results We found no up according results signs. 1of 4 group had some significant decrease Electroretinogram histological Conclusions 1.25 mg is nontoxic rabbit’s retina. Intravitreal may be a useful Uveitis retinopathy, Age Related Macular Degeneration Proliferative Vitreoretinopathy.
